Two different dosages of KoAct®were compared to a control group(Ca) and a HC group. The control group contained the same amount of elemental calcium as the KoAct® group, and the HC group contained the same amount of elemental calcium and collagen as the KoAct® group, but in a simple mixture.

KoAct® increased BMD (Bone Mineral Density) by approximately 3.5% as compared to Control (Ca) group. Both groups were fed same amount of calcium for 8 weeks . (Figure 2)

Furthermore, when these groups were measured for the optimal force to break the bone as a direct indication of bone strength, KoAct® increased femur bone strength by about 9.9% as compared to Control (Ca) group. This result is consistent with the hypothesis that KoAct® not only provides calcium support, but most importantly provides bone matrix support that is critical for bone strength. (Figure 3)

KoAct® outperforms calcium and a simple combination of calcium and collagen.
